THE CHASE
GRAPHIC DESIGN COMPANY

Ben Casey — Co-founder & Director

Before establishing The Chase in Manchester
in 1986, Ben spent many years in education,
developing degree courses for Graphic
Design, lecturing and moderating at various
colleges and universities.

He was appointed Head of The School
of Graphic Design at the University of Central
Lancashire in 1983 and subsequently,
helped to found the School of Communications
Arts in London. In 2003 was appointed
Professor of Visual Communication
at The University of Central Lancashire.

Over the years Ben has been invited onto the
boards and steering committees of some
of the country’s most respected and influential
design advisory panels. These include the
British Design Council’s Design Skills Advisory
Panel, the City of Manchester’s Creative
Panel and the Chairmanship of the British
Design & Art Director’s Club’s Education Group.

Ben set up The Chase in Manchester in
1986 to offer a credible, regional alternative
to London’s brightest and best design
consultancies. Since then, The Chase has
opened offices in London and Preston
and has earned an outstanding reputation
for creative excellence.

Ben has won numerous creative awards
including The Grand Award for Creativity at
The New York Festival of Advertising & Print
and has also chaired and directed judging
juries for all the major creative awards.

Stephen Royle — Creative Director

Stephen joined The Chase in 1997 and
is now joint Creative Director of our
Manchester studio. He was instrumental
in establishing our studio in London.

During his time at The Chase he has
worked on some of our most significant
projects, including The Co-operative Bank
and Smile (the UK’s first internet bank).
Brand expression and global signage
for Rio Tinto. Brand expression, packaging
and identity for AstraZeneca. And property
identity and positioning for Land Securities.

Stephen’s work continues to be widely
awarded including Gold at both New York
Directors Club and Clio, Design Week
awards and silver nominations from D&AD.


Richard Scholey — Creative Director

After finishing his degree in Newcastle,
Richard started his career with an eight year
stint in London working for companies
such as Michael Peters, Conran and Williams
and Phoa.

In 1993 Richard moved back to his native
North with The Chase, becoming a Creative
Director two years later. After being headhunted
by Elmwood in 2001 Richard then spent nine
years as their Creative Director, including
an 18 month period living in Australia setting
up their Melbourne office.

When the opportunity to return to his first
‘true love’, The Chase, came up in May 2010
it was too hard to turn down.

His clients have included Nike, The Royal Mail,
the BBC, the Chelsea Flower Show, Canary
Wharf, The Design Council, and a hairdresser
in Rochdale. His many awards include
D&AD, Design Week, New York Festival, New
York Art Directors, Roses, International
Design Effectiveness, National Graphic, Clio,
Mobius, Fresh and Epica, he is also very proud
of his Level 1 FA coaching badge.

Lise Brian — Associate Creative Director

Lise joined The Chase in 1988 after graduating
in Graphic Design. Since then, she has
worked extensively with The Co-operative Bank
on a huge variety of projects across virtually
every area. These have included the bank’s
ethical relaunch.

Other work has included the launch of Smile,
the internet bank. Other clients include Kosset
(brand development), John West (packaging
and product launch), Alloy (visual identity
and website), the Art Directors Club of Europe
(annual and website), Disney (product range
development) and Astra Zeneca (web).

Awards include a D&AD silver nomination for
loan posters for The Co-operative Bank,
the British Environment and Media award for
the bank’s ethical campaign, a New York
Festival silver medal and Design Week award.
The CFS Sustainability Report won the
top UN global award for Sustainable Reporting
in 2004.

Bev Hutchinson — Client Services Director

Beverley has extensive strategic brand and
consultancy experience, much of it at board
level, directing many high profile accounts.
She has also spent a number of years
client-side and brings a considerable weight
of knowledge and understanding to the team

Rachel Conchie — Account Director

Rachel has worked both client-side in brand
& marketing and agency side with over 10 years
experience in account handling and project
management at The Chase

I always loved my name and wanted to create something from it which inspires me the most

Other artist who influenced me is NICOLE MARTINEZ

NICOLE MARTINEZ
Nicole Martinez is an art directer and designer based in Boston, USA. Her designs act as adorable homages to cute characters and pop culture icons - I particularly love her set of 'nerdy' illustrations. Who could resist those adorable faces? 
Her work is great small and big illustrations made wonderfully and such lovely compositions she has made . Her art work and illustrations shows how much she is in love with everyone she has made few cute nerdy illustrations which are full of fun they are

Violaine & Jeremy
Violaine Orsoni and Jeremy Schneider are a creative duo, who operate a graphic arts studio in Paris. Upon visiting their portfolio, you'll be greeted with numerous awe-inspiring pencil sketches, as well as multiple examples of projects they've art directed, which includes some stunning work on trend magazine Influencia.
They both are amazing graphic designers and illustrators there work is on mordern world. Easy to understand and there design are very simple and very catchy you enjoy seeing there work. I would love to work with them because i like such kind of work easy and elegant.

There this design is so elegant and graceful which shows how they can make one easy thing look so classy and beautiful. They have brilliant choice of colors. Have a look.....
